Announcing Vita Nova’s Home for homeless LGBTQ youth ages 18-21. LGBTQ persons face social stigma, discrimination and often rejection which can add to the physical and emotional strains that all homeless youth struggle with. Our home insures that youth have a welcoming place to live while they develop the resources to make it on their own.
Vita Nova’s case management team will partner with youth to develop goals, skills and tools to help youth through life challenges. Based on the youth’s individualized plan, programming will cover life skills attainment, health & wellness, employment readiness, job placement and resources to explore vocational, secondary and postsecondary options. That is not all! Youth will have the opportunity to create a support network while participating in support groups, social activities and mentorship. Youth will be able to connect with other peers who share their experiences and will celebrate each other’s program success.
Vita Nova recognizes that in order to make this project successful we need the support of our allies and community partners. Here are ways that you can help:
- Provide household toiletries and cleaning supplies
- Assist a youth with clothing for interview or work
- Donate new and used household furniture items
- Sponsor public transportation or Lyft/Uber rides
- Contribute monetarily to this valuable program
